WEEK 1: 4 OCTOBER 2014
Front nine Larry Page, Darryl Ridley, Eddy Stothert . Back nine Stephen Arkle 22pts. Match Stephen Arkle 36pts. . Twos Darryl Ridley @ 11th hole Stephen Arkle 36pts. Larry Page, Darryl Ridley 35pts. Ian Jeffrey 33pts. Kevin Berry, Will Smith, Eddy Stothert, Russell Yates 30pts. Murray Newell 26 pts. Due to the horrendous weather forecast, holiday commitments and any other lame excuses, only 10 TOGS kicked off the new season! Hopefully next week will see an improved turn out. This week however, started with heavy rain, but ended in glorious sunshine. The front nine, in the rain was halved by Larry, Darryl and Eddy with a respectable 17pts. When the sun came out , the Tin Man turned up, rusted himself down, and blazed a super 22pt back nine. His 36pt total just piping Larry and Darryl to the first weeks loot. Darryl did have the consolation of recording the season's first two, at the 11th hole. Beware the injured golfer??????? WEEK 3: 18 OCTOBER 2014
Front nine Darryl Ridley 21pts. . Back nine Ian Jeffrey 20pts. Match Darryl Ridley 39pts Twos No twos this week ? Darryl Ridley 39pts. Ian Jeffrey 36pts. Mick Nealon, Murray Newell 34pts. Will Smith, Andy Wall 32pts. Michael Best, Micky Burn, Duncan McCree, Larry page 31pts. Kevin Berry, John Mitchinson 30pts. John Grant, Eddy Stothert 29pts. Stephen Arkle 28pts. Russell Yates 26pts. Tony Frost, Dave Rowntree 24pts. Steve Todd 22pts. A record turn out today for the TOGS, as we hit the 20 mark for the first time in our history! Expectations of some big scores, didn't materialise as conditions were pretty tough. The fairways were soft, making the course play a little longer than expected and also causing a lot of muddy lies. Only two of the 20 matched or broke par. Well done to Ian Jeffrey (36pts), and to Darryl for an excellent 39pts to take home the loot between them. No twos today. Well done guys. The draw for the Preliminary Round of the Singles Knock-out was made today and the ties are as follows : David Bavaird v Micky Burns Darryl Ridley v Murray Newell John Grant v Mick Nealon Stephen Arkle v Andy Wall Dave Rowntree v Bye Eddy Stothert v Michael Best. Ties to played by Saturday 15th November. |
WEEK 2: 11 OCTOBER 2014
Front nine Duncan McCree 21pts. . Back nine Russell Yates 20pts. Match Larry Page 37pts. Twos Darryl Ridley @ 17th hole. Larry Page 37pts. Duncan McCree 36pts. Micky Burn 35pts. Ian Jeffrey, Eddy Stothert 34pts. Russell Yates 33pts. Mick Nealon, Darryl Ridley 30pts. Andy Wall 29pts. Stephen Arkle, Murray Newell, Dave Rowntree 26pts. On a glorious sunny Saturday morning, the chance to record a really good score, was missed by all. Although 37, 36 and 35pts look ok, I'm sure Larry, Duncan and Mick will kick themselves for not getting 40 plus. Each of them had two no scores and at least three one pointers on their cards. The par three's are proving hard to hit this year, as Darryl Ridley once again scored the only 2, but as with last week had to rely on a good chip to achieve it. WEEK 4: 25 OCTOBER 2015
Front nine Andy Wall 23pts. Back nine Kevin Berry 21pts. Match Kevin Berry, John Grant 37pts. Twos Eddy Stothert @ the 3rd hole. Kevin Berry @ the 7th hole. Kevin Berry, John Grant 37pts. Larry Page 36pts. Michael Best, Andy Wall 35pts. Tony Frost 34pts. Dave Rowntree, Eddy Stothert 33pts. Russell Yates 32pts. Duncan McCree, Murray Newell 30pts. Stephen Arkle, Will Smith 29pts. John Mitchinson 28pts. Michael Burn 24pts. It was the turn of two of our new boys to show their metal this week, on a blustery sunny morning scoring wasn't easy. Although, Andy's 23pt haul on the front nine, and Kevin's 21pts on the back nine belie that. Unfortunately Andy, couldn't keep it going on the second half of his round, finishing with 35pts. Kevin, however had 16 on the front to add to his 21, and joint top scored with The General, who got his campaign up and running with an excellent 37pts. The singing minstrel that is "Le Plec", played a round of NOTE to sneak to the top of the table, and looks like he wants a third star on that shirt. Steb and new boy Andy Wall both had respectable 35pt cards. Consolation for Andy, however as he shared the TWOS pot with Eddy (I had a two) Stothert. In the Singles Knock-out Preliminary Round : Andy Wall beat Stephen Arkle. and Murray Newell beat Darryl Ridley. |
