Micky Burns 26pts. Ian Jeffrey 25pts. The penultimate week of the season, was not a good week for the chasing pack. a strong wind and bumpy greens, put paid to the aspirations of the few within touching distance of leader Murray. Only one score to match par by Larry le Plec, meant only one person increased their total. The Cultured Caledonian produced this weeks only 2 and moved his score to 199 and avoid back to back Wooden Spoons. Well done David. So it's all down to next week and the traditional leaders out last scenario. good luck to all who still have a realistic chance to catch Murray. |
WEEK 24: 14 MARCH 2015

After what seems like a lifetime, we have new leader atop the Togs Winter League. Murray Newell knocked it round in 72 gross for 39pts, a mammoth effort, puts him two shots ahead of Darryl at the top. And even then he didn't win a penny on the day. All the bunce went to Tony Frost who won the front nine, Shared the back nine, won the match and had the only two of the day, talk about greed. |
WEEK 26: 28 MARCH 2015
Front nine Michael Best 18pts. Back nine Duncan McCree 19pts. Match Duncan McCree 36pts. Twos Murray Newell @ the 11th hole. Duncan McCree 36pts. Michael Best 35pts. Ian Jeffrey 31pts. The last week of the season excitement didn't materialise as we'd hoped, with only Duncan in the chasing pack, making any impact. And that only being enough to snatch a share of the Runner-Up spot on 224pts, along side Darryl. So it's well done Murray Newell our new TOGS Winter League Champion for 2014-2015. The Wooden Spoon was claimed by Steve Todd. The Singles Knock-Out was won by Will Smith beating Duncan Mc 2up in the final. The Presentation will be held in the TGC clubhouse on Sunday 17th May. 18:00 for 18:30 ?? Hope to see you all in attendance. |
