Wishing you all the most successful golfing year, as you can hope for. Can ALL TOGS please enter their correct, EXACT handicap on their scorecard before signing. This can be found on the website each week, you can view it on your smartphone. It does help. Thank You. After a frosty three weeks, and a hectic festive season, normal service was resumed this week, and we hope for better weather to come. Battle has commenced, and first out the blocks was the Tin Man, the Jekyll and Hyde of Togs golf. Thirty Nine magnificent points, improving his total by 11pts has made him into a serious contender. Well done Steve. Only three other score better than Par? The Quiet Man(35) has moved menacingly into the top three, Will Smith(36) finally finding a bit of form? Too late me thinks to make a charge. Finally Ed the Duck(36) playing off the lowest handicap (4.8) of any of the TOGS, consistently putting in good scores, and now leading the way at the top of the pile. A betting man wouldn't risk his ill gotten gains on this one? Anyone in the top ten could come out on top ??????? Watch this space. Three twos this week: Michael Best hit the pin at the 3rd hole, for the easiest of birdies. Steve Arkle and Will Smith both had a two at the much more difficult 17th ? Any outstanding 1st Round Knock-Out Singles matches must be played by the end of January 2015. WEEK 16: 17 JANUARY 2015

Short and sweet this week, The other injured golfer returned this week, and swept away all before him. Murray Newell fresh from the surgeon's knife, produced the best and only score to better par - 38 excellent points, an increase of 5pts on his league total (215). Darryl's 34pts was the only other TOG in the top twelve to add to his score. He now has a two shot lead at 221pts. |
WEEK 15: 10 JANUARY 2015
Front nine Darryl Ridley 21pts. Back nine Micky Burn 19pts. Match Darryl Ridley 37pts. Twos Duncan Mccree @ the 7th. Kevin Berry @ the 17th. Darryl Ridley 37pts. Micky Burn 36pts. Andy Wall 35pts. Ian Jeffrey 32pts. Kevin Berry 30pts. Larry Page, Steve Todd 28pts. Stephen Arkle, Duncan McCree 26pts. Will Smith 23pts. Eddy Stothert 21pts. Last week proved to the calm before the storm, as the weather took at turn for the worse. Strong winds, sleet, snow, rain and some sunshine all came along to make this the toughest of TOGS tests ever. Thirteen hardy soles ventured out only eleven came home. For the majority it was a case of, should have stayed at home, but for three it was a good day at the office. Andy Wall out in 19, back in 16 for an excellent 35pts. Micky Burn, not having swung a golf club in anger for five weeks, recorded a magnificent 36pts. Star Man this week was Simon T.(Darryl) 37pts unbelievable points in awful conditions. His reward for his efforts, is to sit proudly at the top the league. Well done to the three guys mentioned, to the rest I hope we can thaw out sufficiently to make a better fist of things next week. Two twos this week, no mean feat considering : Duncan at the 7th and Kevin at the 17th. Week 17: 24 January 2015
Front nine Dave Rowntree 22pts. Back nine Duncan McCree 21pts. Match Andy Wall 38pts. Twos Dave Rowntree @ the 7th hole. Andy Wall 38pts. Micky Burn 37pts. Michael Best, Darryl Ridley 36pts. Dave Rowntree, Will Smith 34pts. Duncan McCree 33pts. Ian Jeffrey 31pts. John Grant 30pts. Kevin Berry, Murray Newell 28pts. David Bavaird 24pts. Eddy Stothert 21pts. Larry Page 20pts. The winners of the front and back nine's this week, BT Dave (22/12) and Biscuit (12/21) our current WL Champion, both played a game of two halves, the other nine being only 12pts each, probably not matching their expectations? As the remaining weeks to be played goes into single figures next week? It's not what was required. On the other hand this weeks winner, Andy (moves the ball form right to left) Wall (one of our new TOGS) had perfectly formed scores of 19 out and 19 back, for a super total of 38pts. And if he can keep the big slinging shot in check? Who knows. Micky Burn showed what he can do, with 37pts moving him to the top ten, if he can get enough games (work permitting) he could be dangerous. Michael Best(36) another of the Brat Pack had a good day, and lies in 11th place. The final member of the BP, The Riddler continues on his merry way to glory, adding another two points to his already impressive total (223). Nine weeks to go, and it's catch me if you can ????????? Only one 2, this week and after nice eight iron to two and a half feet, Dave (BT) Rowntree slotted in a tricky little left to right downhiller! Well done my son. Week 18: 31 January 2015
Course Closed due to Snow and Rain. |
